HR 45

SOLD: Hallberg-Rassy 45

This HR45 is the type of boat I would have loved to buy. She is like a treasure, hidden away in one of the most renown yards for winter storage and boat care, namley Br Martinsson Yard on Orust, Sweden. The saying goes that if you keep your boat at the Br Martinsson Yard, they take care of the boat while you may borrow it during summers.

Ever since she was new in 1991, this boat has been sailed no more than approximately half of the available summers, the remaining years she has been safely kept at the yard. During the few summers she actually was launched she has only been sailing in close vicinity, in first place on the Swedish west coast.

The HR45 was not even on the market, when I got the chance to sell the boat. I was able to sell her within a shortest period of time. No wonder! She is a beaty!

It hasn’t happened often: The HR45 is being launched in 2010 for a short summer in Sweden

The hull has been conserved thanks to all years of indoor storage

The fact that she has been stored indoors most of her life time can clearly been seen on the shiny hull and the teak deck which is in perfect condition. Only once has she been sanded very carefully (about 1 mm). Having been laid in Simson, this teak deck would not need to be changed for a very long time.

The teak deck has been conserved thanks to all the years of indoor storage

In other words, this fine yacht has been conserved, treated, updated but hardly been used. She is equipped and maintained regardless of cost.

The beautiful cockpit is like new thanks to the fact that it has hardly been used

Then neat engine has run just 750 hours

The 6 kW Westerbeke has no more than 330 hours

The HR45 has the same hull shape as the HR46 but with an elegant positive stern. There were a couple of different options for interior layouts for the HR45 and this boat was further upgraded with armchairs in the saloon. She has two mid cabins with a toilet compartment including a washing machine in the forepeak. In the aft a comfortable owner’s cabin with an en-suit bathroom with a shower.
