Cruising the Azores
7 – 21 Aug: Sao Miguel – Terceira
Pico seen from Sao jorge
After the very successful Azores cruising year of 2021 and 2023, Reginasailing will again explore these mid-Atlantic volcanic islands in 2025!
The first of these legs will start on the main island of Sao Miguel and we will then most probably have an upwind sail to Pico or possibly directly to Horta on Faial which would be an overnight sail. Main task in Horta will be to refurbish our Logo on the breakwater wall and add a fourth year to our Azores cruises!
Refurbishing our logo adding 2023 after 2006 and 2021. Time for a touch-up adding “2025”.
The other attraction in Horta is, of course, enjoying a Gin do Mar at the legendary Peter Café Sport, where all sailors cross their ways when crossing the Atlantic.
By the way: For the German reading guests, there is an upcoming article on the Azores in YACHT not not to be missed! Info to come.

It can’t taste better than at Peter’s: Gin do Mar
A beer is, of course, also OK at Peter Café Sport!
The Azores has so much to offer, both above water (hiking!) as well as under water (diving!) that it’s an idea that you prolong your stay with some own holiday before or after the leg.

The legs will start on Sao Miguel and end on the island of Terceira with excellent flight connections to especially Porto and Lisbon in Portugal. During summers, there are often also direct flights for holiday makers.
Early morning dawn in Horta. Sunrise over Pico.
Get ready for an unforgettable sailing holiday in a cruising ground you hardly would sail in otherwise!
Sailing in between the islands. When the Azores High is above the Azores, wind is often benign.
The hot springs on São Miguel, where very “interesting” food is cooked for hours. It’s an experience to try…!
Food cooked inside an active volcano! Come and try!
Green and flowers everywhere!
Europe’s only tea plantation: Gorreana Tea Factory! From now on, it is served onboard – on any leg!
The tea factory. When visiting São Miguel, we could make a taxi excursion over the island, also visiting this great historic place, still more active than ever making a great green tea!

Food is always freshly cooked and delicious (and very reasonably priced) on the Azores.

Pico seen from Velas
Swimming is a delight with some 25°C in the water, while the air hardly is warmer than that and pleasantly cool in the evenings.

On Sao Miguel close to Ponta Delgada
Waling was previously part of the Azores where bones and teeth of the wales were made into art (Scrimshaw). Since long, waling is now replaced by wale-watching.
These were the open boat in which the harsh men were waling. Wale museum on Pico.
Price: EUR 4,995 per person including all food consumed onboard, harbour fees, diesel etc. plus visits to restaurants and pubs
