Leg 3/2025

12 May – 22 May    Gourmet & Huge Tides: Brest/France along the north coast of Bretagne via the Channel Islands to Granville/France.

Taken in a Restaurant in St Peter Port, Guernsey, Channel Islands

.

Challenge yourself with one of the highest tidal ranges in the world (up to 12m) and currents that can outperform the yacht.

Find your way through drying rivers sailing up to fantastic villages and towns with outstanding restaurants! If weather and time allows, we sail via the Channel Islands to experience some English atmosphere with French touch.

Many of the restaurants, I have actually been to already when passing this thrilling coast in previous years. Others, I can only look forward to experience with my new guests for this leg!

Some of the books and charts we use to find the best way to the best restaurants!

We will use the secret anchorages of Brittany, using the IMRAY book with the same title and have ample time for this coast alone. Since the coast can be rough, spending time in the villages or in restaurants is the second aim of this leg, continuing only in good weather.

St Malo

Granville showing the enormous tidal range!

Granville. You really have to do your calculations right, since the approach is falling dry behind the sill.

Granville: Sometimes it’s a steep upward slope to get ashore. Grocery shopping needs to be done according to the tides!

A typical harbour. Nothing for Regina Laska…

Cidre is the typical drink in a Creperie in Bretagne.

Anchored under the castle in one of the estuaries cutting deep into the country.

Not all seafood you can find in France should be eaten…

Price: EUR 3,995 per person including all food consumed onboard, harbour fees, diesel etc. Restaurants come extra, where we share the cost.
