Fine yacht, great skipper, wonderful crew, outstanding meals, super service (by Leon) and rewarding tidal calculations! This is how you can sum up our excellent impressions of the sea, wind, waves, tides and the corresponding sensational images all around this thrilling cruising ground! The choice of harbours including first class restaurants as well as the onboard BBQ was the perfect companion to our sailing experience. It gave the ideal mix between thrilling tides and sailing for us gourmets and wine lovers. Can there be any better place to learn tidal sailing?

Zu Beginn weist uns Leon gründlich in alles an Bord ein, was er für wichtig hält und was wichtig ist!

Here the various whistle sound we all had to learn by heart and were tested before we casted off. Was that the reason why we didn't sail the first night? And what about the last signal on the paper?!
Dann gleich Tidal-Calclulations für den nächsten Tag (Einlaufen) und den Morgen drauf (Auslaufen) für die Ile de Re. Das Nachvorneschauen und die Umsicht begleiten uns in den folgenden Tagen.
Passage planning: It's one thing getting into a tidal harbour, but can we exit the following day again? And if yes, at what time? Do we really want to leave at 05:30 in the morning?!
And if you are uncertain about your tidal calculations, you can always compare with the info at the harbour office!

The harbour entrance is so narrow in Belle Ile that some boats have to reverse in backwards in order to enter.

Es bleibt meist Zeit für einen Spaziergang in die Orte rund um den Hafen, das Finden eines Restaurants und dann das Genießen der örtlichen Spezialitäten. Alles garniert mit unvergesslichen „Postkarten“-Ansichten.

Und Segeln und so? -
Ach ja, wir konnten alle Segel an Bord zum Einsatz bringen. Auch der Gennaker war im Einsatz. Und wenn schon, dann muss wohl auch gehalst werden mit dem Ballon! ;-)
Mit unserem Regatta-Experten Jan und Skipper Leon, unterstützt von einer segelerfahrenen Crew Eva, Brigitte und Martin war das offensichtlich kein Problem. Applaus dafür!

Schmetterling-Segeln in den Wellen mit Ausbaumen der Genua und Bullenstander am Baum ebenfalls … nur Genuss! So lassen sich auch größere Strecken nahezu mühelos überwinden.
Gentlemen sail downwind! Therefore we also sailed back south one day, in order to continue our sail north the following day. Just to get downwind sailing two days in a row!
Not all days were in sunshine. Some rain is normal when you sail in Bretagne!
Die Auswahl der Häfen, die Restaurants und auch die einmalige Grillerei haben Segler, Tidal-Neulinge und -Routiniers, Gourmets und Weinästheten gleichermassen gefreut und bereichert.
