Regina-Sailing Malta is special. Essential hands-on knowledge is offered in a very pleasant surrounding. Efficient learning is guaranteed thanks to a positive atmosphere, small groups (maximum 8 students) and highly engaged renown teachers and instructors, who love spreading their huge knowledge base. It combines RYA and STCW Sail Training with enjoying Maltese hospitality and culinary experiences, living in a pleasant 4-Star hotel overlooking beautiful Spinola Bay in Malta.

By having fun, enjoying the relaxed atmosphere on Malta, meeting other interesting people, enjoying some sunshine during the winter months and being accompanied by an experienced and open-hearted instructor, learning becomes unavoidable.

As far as practicable, courses are held in Malta and when it comes to the RYA Yachtmaster Theory Courses, these are held by Leon Schulz. The STCW medical courses are held by nobody less than Dr Spike Briggs, medical doctor in emergency care, sailor and circumnavigator, author of marine standard literature and who is, amongst others, supplying Volvo Ocean Race and the Oyster Around the World Rally with medical equipment and advice.

Since space is highly limited with few courses and limited students, booking early is recommended.

RYA Yachtmaster Ocean Theory

In order to pass the RYA Yachtmaster Ocean exam you need to do three things: You need to have sailed an offshore qualifying passage, you need to have taken a sun-run-sun sight including compass check and you need to have joined a shore-based RYA Yachtmaster Ocean theory course and taken an assessment. All three is offered by Reginasailing and this is the theory course.
